The Sancus is the 5th movement of Misa Azteca. The composition includes the text from a common prayer used in the Roman Catholic Mass, the Sanctus or “Holy, Holy, Holy”. This prayer acts as a gateway into the ritual called the “Eucharistic Rite” where Catholics believe Christ becomes actual body and blood through a series of prayers that comprise something called the “Consecration” in the Roman Catholic Mass.
